ACCREDITATION SCHEMES

SATA has a number of accreditation schemes, each with its own documentation regarding eligibility, accreditation standards, the evaluation process, fees, accreditation marks, and minimum standards.

CERTIFICATE-30 CREDITS (10 to 15 Subjects)

Certificate courses are range of part-time, or full-time training courses that could cover a variety of subjects and could be delivered in an environment different from that of a college.

DIPLOMA-60 credits (20 to 30 Subjects)

Diploma courses are range of part-time, or full-time training courses that could cover a variety of subjects and could be delivered in an environment of a college.

 

BACHELOR DEGREE-90 CREDITS (30 to 45 Subjects)

Bachelor degree courses are range of part-time, or full- time training courses that could cover a variety of subjects and could be delivered in an environment of a college.

 

HYBRID - ONLINE, Distance and onsite learning

SATA's online, distance and blended learning scheme is for an organisation provides courses delivered through online, distance, or blended learning means. The process of application, evaluation, and accreditation has been adapted to assess this type of provision. The evaluation will include an on-site visit. Whether there is face-to-face delivery or not, SATA will always inspect the operational premises of an online organisation as our scheme reviews all aspects. This scheme is for India or overseas-based organisations.

 

COLLEGE / INSTITUTE

All organisations are required to maintain the same standards accredited under this scheme, the range of courses on
  • Theological Studies
  • Leadership Training
  • Pastoral studies and Counselling
  • Mission and Missiological Studies Classical Languages

 

SATA's accreditation covers a wide range of the organisation's provision and is not restricted to specific courses or field. However, this accreditation does not extend to activities offered outside the organisation itself, for instance satalite programmes, satalite schools, or outside branches. Also courses offered, promoted and delivered under a different name, unless SATA has given specific approval for the inclusion of such courses within the organisation's accreditation.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS

SATA's International School accreditation scheme is for organisations based outside India. The scheme caters for organisations that offer a range of short, part-time, or full-time courses of a flexible nature or that offer a provision similar to India based organisations accredited under the college accreditation scheme. This scheme is for organisations based outside India only.

 

ACCREDITATION

  • Interested organisation should submitt an enquiry form or letter
  • The organisation will be invited for an online or onsite meeting for further discussion to go through the accreditation process
  • The satisfied organisation will be requested to submitt an official application by paying a non refundable application and administration fee
  • The application will be reviewed by SATA within two weeks and will liaise with the organisation until satisfied that the organisation meets the eligibility requirements.
  • If the application process for new applicants cannot be completed within six months as a result of failure to submit the necessary documentation, SATA reserves the right to hold the process until necessary documents are sent.
  • An on-site evaluation is conducted of all premises and facilities under consideration for SATA accreditation by the members of the accreditation board
  • An evaluation report is drawn up and submitted to the Accreditation Board
  • SATA informs the organisation of the decison of the Accreditation Board. The Accreditation Board makes one of three decisions:

 

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 

Any theological school is eligible for accreditation if the following requirements are met:
→ The organisation is a government approved legally registered body
→ The organisation offers theological training and leadership programmes
→ The organisation is able to provide evidence of its financial stability
→ The organisation is a responsible body of an accountable management
→ The organisation is annually audited by an authorised charted accountant or auditor
→ The organisation is led by a director or leader, who must be a legal resident of the country of operation with a legally bound contract
